Nicknamed “Acro”, this is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is a gymnastic type discipline and acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering with other dancers. It is based in flexibility, contortion and strength.
In recent years, acro has gained popularity with wide spread success of contemporary circus productions such as Cirque du Soleil and also with main stream media showcasing it on television dance programs. This style compliments additional training in contemporary, jazz and lyrical.
If your dancer is often on the front lawn practicing their cartwheels or walkovers, this class is perfect!
Dancers perform in the year end recital.
Both B.A.T.D. and Acrobatic Arts syllabi are followed. B.A.T.D. grade examinations are available to those who qualify.
Minimum age 5 for Mini Acro. Class placement determined by skill level.

Tumbling is an extension of the acrobatics program. It is a discipline which combines skills of artistic gymnastics with those of trampolining. Also ideal for students involved in cheer, break dance OR who want to be as versatile as possible.
This is a 45 minute class once per week available to dancers who have attained a certain skill level.
Minimum age 7 and Class placement by invitation.
